Kitchen lighting has a job to do: clear light on the counter and the island, with a fixture that looks good from the rest of the room. This collection focuses on pendants for the island and adjustable spot lights for work areas, all handcrafted in our workshop from solid brass.

Hanging pendants over an island

Hang island pendants with the bottom about 30 to 36 inches above the counter. Two pendants suit most islands, three for a longer one, spaced evenly and about 6 inches in from each end. Domes and cones direct light down onto the work surface. See our dome lights, ceiling spotlights and pendant lights.

Finishes

Choose raw, polished, brushed or antique brass, with black on selected models. Brushed and antique brass hide fingerprints well in a busy kitchen. Built with UL-listed components.

How many pendants do I need over an island?

Two work for most islands. For a longer island, use three, evenly spaced.

Are these fixtures dimmable?

Yes, with a compatible dimmer and dimmable bulbs.
